In The Moment Planning

Putting each child's interests at the heart of their learning and environment.

Life-long skills

Following the children’s interests helps each individual to thrive and gain life-long skills from a young age.

Our qualified practitioners will provide the time, resources, support and space to help the children develop their own learning and play in a holistic way. They will regularly observe, consult, plan and participate in the children’s learning, in a safe and inclusive environment.

Around once a term each child becomes the “Focus Child”. This means that we pay extra attention to what they are learning through their interests and play and we are there to support, encourage and scaffold their learning to achieve next steps in the moment.

We also ask for parents to contribute by answering a few questions around your child’s interests and sending in some information and photos of them out and about. This allows us to build a better picture of how your child is at home and see if their interests are the same in nursery.

We also record WOW moments for your child throughout the rest of the term. This can be something your child does for the first time or something they are particularly proud of. We are always focusing on all children but always a little extra on ‘focus child week’.

Every term your child’s key worker will do a termly report that is a summary of how they are getting on and what we will be working towards next term. All observations, reports, WOW moments are sent via Famly, our parent app.
